Nice! I have Fastmail with my own domain and I just typically create an entirely new address for each service I have to register with, using that service’s reversed domain name. So here it would be something like sh.surge@…

Was this happening all the time or during using the port only?

Would love your thoughts on Clickhouse vs Pinot and/or Druid.

My memory of SS2 is a pretty linear experience with only minimum of backtracking (especially compared to SS1) but it’s been a long while since I played it, I’ll take your word for it until I play again myself. What do you think of SS1 remake?

That said, I do appreciate it’s hard not to have respawns in an open-world game. In System Shock 1 & 2 and Deus Ex there were choices but individual areas were small and you mostly didn’t come back once cleared. In Prey there is active infestation so it wouldn’t mesh if you just cleared everything.

Oh wow, I didn’t play it but wanted to - thanks for this, respawning enemies are not for me. I play to relax not to dread non-stop, I need the feeling of an area cleared. The only sim that was a good enough match for me to allow this was Abiotic Factor. I can’t imagine Deus Ex with respawns.

It depends.

Which would be ideal, however most readers use the RSS feed to scrape and display the original article, often even offline.

I love RSS/atom and get all my news that way (shoutout to Inoreader) but I have to appreciate how this is sometimes a step against feed readers stripping ads away. Whether no feed support due to ads is effective is a different conversation. Similar to whether search engines should pay for content.
