The NFL officiating office has just released a memo about this call.
They’re saying that even though the receiver completed all the necessary elements for a ruling of a catch, the replay officials “thought it looked kinda weird” and “didn’t like how he held it out” and overruled for those reasons.

Growing up “at least he” had a job/apartment/car/good hygiene = suitable partner
