Just an unprecedented run of darn good movies with absolutely no through line. Like a sentence that just flips a coin to determine every next word, I love it.

The extent to which the right blinkered themselves into taking a basic (even gentle!) societal drift toward empathy and inclusivity and reimagined it as some completely made-up militant assault personally targeting and victimizing them is really something. Literally none of it ever happened.

By definition, you cannot deport a citizen. You need to use some other word, that one is incorrect.

(That's not a subjective opinion or political stance, btw (whereas overriding your newsroom's dictonary to favor the Trump administration's factually wrong usage kind of is?)).

Trump's car commercial is your periodic reminder that the economic class that makes up the core of his base is not working class blue collar voters, as the media often portrays it. It is upper-middle class voters (specifically, non college educated whites slightly above middle class).

Republican fringes have been obsessed with this particular conspiracy theory for at least 50 years, most recently in the FIRST Trump term. I remember hearing some version ("Jews replaced the gold with tungsten and sold it to China" or somesuch) in the Alex Jones/Ron Paul days twenty years ago.

Just in case it wasn't clear, the anti-trans edicts from the administration aren't about "fairness" or "clinical accuracy" or whatever lies their voters tell themselves. It is explicitly that transness is bad and trans folks ought to be hounded out of society as liars and bad people.

Yeah, the guy who spends all his late nights mad at people online and trying to body social media platforms into kissing his ring really had heartfelt concerns about national security.
