Let me add, to be fair, I really enjoyed the PSP. I'm not hating on it. I still own one as well as two PSVita units and a PSTV. PSP was good, but it was the PSVita that was truly ahead of its time. Fixed all the problems of PSP truly brought console gaming in portable form. Excellent device.

That argument could be made for some games, but not all. Monster Hunter Freedom is a full fat experience. Literally a console game in a portable. MGS:PW was the same and others. That's what made the lack of a second analog so bad. Quite a few PSP games were as good as PS2 titles.

DS. I did own both but the one thing that plagued the PSP is the lack of a second analog stick for games like Coded Arms, Syphon Filter, Monster Hunter Freedom, MGS: PeaceWalker etc. The controls were severely compromised. Trying to deliver PS2 styled games with one analog flat out sucked.

N64, GameCube and WiiU did not sell well. DS started off very slow in the face of PSP but took off later in the cycle. Nintendo survives because they're still one of THE best developers in the world as the industry constantly copies them. But the harsh criticism of Nintendo is well documented.

N64 was ripped constantly because it was cartridge based in an age of CD-ROM. GameCube was ripped because it was thought to be nothing but a toy. The "Dolphin" fiasco during E3 didn't help. DS, 3DS and WiiU were panned because devs and gamers couldn't wrap their head around the dual screens.

Congrats! Took a break from playing Warframe on Switch 2 and came across this post. Naysayers be damned, Switch 2 is awesome. Just bought Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Trilogy, Last Faith and reinstalled Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Metroid Prime 4 next week!

I don't disagree but I find this ironic. Nintendo has pushed the envelop of what creative hardware design could be for years but was constantly ridiculed for it. Currently, other companies are copying what Nintendo has done except now the designs are praised. Go figure.
