🏺 Ali Cherri's 'Sphinx' reimagines ancient Assyrian and Egyptian civilizations. This winged hybrid sits with exaggerated muscles and a serpent coiling around its legs. Where monuments once declared permanence, Cherri's creature is made from mud, balanced on bronze prostheses - fragile yet defiant.

“It gives the paintings this feeling of luminosity as if they’re almost backlit” Rachel Lancaster's technique of not using white paint gives her pieces a dream-like quality of faded memories, drawing on cinematic imagery 1980s and 1990s films as her inspiration.

Laura Lancaster’s work centres around the figure, often abstracting its presence to create ambigious and surreal imagery. Using found photos, cine films and slides of strangers, her work explores a dialogue between photography and painting.
