That’s not a difference in political system though. A fraction of what he’s done has been legal - what he’s proven is that it’s better to do what you want now and fight it in the courts later.

Ironically, it’s the exact people who use it most - half of Reform voters are 55+ and 2/3 of NHS money is spent on over 65s

Hell of a gender disparity for Strongly Oppose 🥴

The money is obviously brilliant, but it’s incredible that there’s 3000+ individual donors already. A true representation of ‘nothing about us without us’ 💚

Lifelong Labour voter who joined the Greens a few months ago and absolutely adores Zack 🥰

Swallow your pride. The momentum is gone and you’ve become a spoiler vote bsky.app/profile/youg...
Ahead of its launch conference this weekend, 12% of Britons say they are likely to consider voting for Your Party, down from 18% in July

Not only is this less than for the established parties, but it has additional caveats... / 🧵

Thank god he’s echoing right-wing talking points and breaking his own manifesto to help lift us out of our deep malaise

The Greens are thankfully very vocal on trans issues and have an active grassroots approach of no decisions about LGBTQ people without LGBTQ people bsky.app/profile/tran...
Green Party Conference recently passed some amazing healthcare policy for the trans community. It commits us to an informed consent model of trans healthcare, a trans-led public inquiry into NHS care, a trans-inclusive ban on conversion therapy, and so much more.

Gaining traction with who? I’m not aware of either of those actually dissuading existing Reform voters from sticking with the party, which is ultimately the goal. 100k is honestly nothing for these petitions - digital ID one had 2 million in a matter of days and immediately dropped out of the news

He asked for Powell’s UKIP endorsement in 1994. He never, ever stopped being racist and people want to piss on the graves of WW2 veterans who fought to keep his politics off our shores.
November 28, 2025 at 12:08 PM
I actually like that they didn’t do that. Farage is treated as inevitable so often that it would’ve dampened the element of hope that he doesn’t have to be

You can download the app on the iPhone/Android App Store! There’s 3 daily questions that take 20 seconds and form a lot of these YouGov results

Because like I already said, I WANT these to be a simple and accessible form of democracy but I’ve yet to see any evidence of it.
November 27, 2025 at 2:09 PM
I have direct evidence of dozens not resulting in anything via the website itself. I’m still waiting for examples of them resulting in change.

Asylum applications are up 13% for a combination of reasons - more boat crossings as a direct result of Brexit, and more places that people need asylum from (war, climate change, etc.)
November 27, 2025 at 2:05 PM
The Greens are pretty on the nose with all of those. Immigration is good and needed, increase spending on public services, decrease irregular migration and allow them to work while applications are processed
November 27, 2025 at 2:02 PM
Correct. There’s no guarantee they’ll be debated at the 100,000 threshold, and petitions with 3+ million signatures were either rejected for a debate, or debated before the “that’s great but no”
November 27, 2025 at 1:59 PM
Could you point me to some that have resulted in a change? I want these petitions to be a simple and accessible form of democracy, but I’ve yet to see evidence of it.
November 27, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Because it’s slacktivism. So few - if any - of these actually result in change, even with millions of votes, they’re designed to make you feel like you’re taking part in a democratic decision process that’s done and dusted when your time could be better spent elsewhere.
November 27, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Could you point me to one? And no, I didnt
November 27, 2025 at 12:32 PM
Great, so I can have a copy of the debate that resulted in no changes.
November 27, 2025 at 12:23 PM
Blame the elders. Not all of them, but about half of Reform’s voters are 65+ and actively trying to fuck the country they leave their children and grandchildren
