also imo a lot of these talks focus on rural voters like its 2008 and we still have majorities in the driftless region but imo the real game for democrats is to nationally polarize suburbs toward the party the same way that rurals have been negativelly polarized against it over the last decade

"Your average blue collar worker is a socialist seed waiting for the waters of class first progressivism to blossom into a revolutionary flower" is an article of faith that doesn't need to have any bearing on reality for it to be useful and believed.

Important context: the grad student is transgender, the student's mother is a lawyer who previously defended J6 rioters

To me, its a test case like they did at UT Austin over admissions

Very much on purpose, not a coincidence

As folks have noted in the replies, the student's mother is something of a MAGA public figure (and lawyer).

This is obviously a purposeful stunt to attack a trans graduate student, which is sick af and must be opposed on the grounds.

It is simultaneously an assault on university pedagogy.

Look, y'all know I hate AI as much as the next passionate hater of AI, but ChatGPT has nothing on the University of Oklahoma deciding that based on the first amendment students can literally say anything in their papers as existential threat to the university.

In a world that hadn't jumped the shark, this would be immediate grounds for the university's accreditation to be placed under careful scrutiny.
