I tend to compile my own newspaper every day in about 100 posts

and am just not motivated enought to put all of that into a Substack or other tidy long-form format

funny, the plan is generally to use these "yachts" as islands to ride out climate change's early years (even today's billlionaires won't live to see the worst of it)

no serious country allows this

but America has made it de facto policy
Reporter: “Are you committed to releasing the full video?”

Trump: “Didn't I just tell you that?”

Reporter: “You said that it was up to Sec. Hegseth.”

Trump: “You are the most obnoxious reporter in the whole place…You are an obnoxious, actually a terrible reporter.”

he's kind of not wrong -- but forgets the bit where the tariffs made the bailout necessary, money for which would not be available (unless you're Argentina) without the tariff income.

and farmers will conveniently do the same.
Trump on his farm bailout: "This money would not be possible without tariffs ... because of tariffs, this is possible."

just imagine what's happened to anti-terror policing...
ICE claims its partnerships with local law enforcement make communities safer.

Comparing 287(g) arrests in the most recent three months to the same period last year tells a different story: ICE is pulling officers away from public safety work to round up immigrants with no criminal history.

EU Commission head Ursula von der Leyen calls the seizure of frozen Russian assets a key act of European self-defense and vital to Ukraine’s survival. Described as a “reparations loan,” the move would unlock funds to support Ukraine’s fight for freedom, using the aggressor’s own resources.

Wow. Trump’s regime is going after any Americans who do not support Trump as “domestic terrorists”. There is a paid “tip line” to turn your neighbors in with.
A leaked DOJ memo obtained by @kenklippenstein.bsky.social reveals an effort to build a list of supposedly "anti-American" groups and individuals, an escalation of the administration's crackdown on dissent. The list targets "not just the left" but "anyone who isn't a Trump supporter," he says.
