There is an issue of shoddy editing in the Trump piece and BBC has some not great moments. But what media organisation has a programme like Newswatch or critiques itself in its own news broadcasts. Not GB News or Fox News

It does rather suggest that the BBC could set the tone by continuing to be serious in the face of distraction, stunt and gesture. It would be worth considering what impact that might have on the tone and conduct of politics and civic life generally.
