Following on from my lunar bat post several days ago, here is an image I took from Noosa, Queensland, on 12 February 2014.
It's 101 years since the birth of astronaut Alan B. Shepard Jr (18 November 1923 - 21 July 1998) - the first American to travel into space on 5 May 1961. His was a 15-minute suborbital flight. Ten years later, he walked on the Moon as commander of the Apollo 14 mission. (NASA images.)

While looking back through some older lunar images, I found one I took of a bat flying in front of the Moon three days after the first Chinese spacecraft lunar landing in 2013. #Moon #MoonPhotos #astrophotography #FullMoon
