I really appreciate your support and apology. These three years of service and campaigning have been marked with harmful and othering misinformation about me that I no longer wish to see perpetuated intentionally or unintentionally. For me or any other candidates that hold marginalized identities.

And another thing. I’m a damn good effective council member, I show up for my ward, I am connected to my neighbors, and I pass solid policy. I wish this could’ve been highlighted in my race by those who observed it— instead of my odd opposition. IG that’s the life of being a women of color in office

Nail on the head! Basically what I was fighting against my whole campaign for two years. Even as I live in breath here people pushed the lie I didn’t live here. I didn’t know the community where I grew up. Minneapolis raised.

I’ve said this many times and I’ll say it again, two year terms are not meant for local government. After some rest pre and post budget mark-up, I’ll be back hitting the ground running. Big things ahead!
