Former environmental scientist: soil water processes; catchment hydrology

Apparently, I represent a squalid chapter in UK history doing incalculable damage to the country; I've turned it into an island of strangers ~ Keir Starmer

Because the garden appears lifeless currently, here are a few of my favourite pics from the summer (and because I miss the warmth 😢).

Over 30 years of failure summarised in one figure. Governments / politicians refusing to listen to the science in favour of billionaires and big business whilst the planet burns.

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time

30+ years of failure in one diagram:

It achieved nothing.
Decades of evidence ignored by world leaders. They are too interested in taking backhanders from billionaires whilst the world burns.

Governments and world leaders have proven they are not interested in tacking the climate catastrophe. They would rather focus on backhanders from billionaires whilst the world burns. Nothing has changed despite decades of expert evidence.

The other day, I came across these pre-election pledges by Starmer. He lies so easily...
November 22, 2025 at 11:17 AM
Decades of evidence presented by leading scientists to world leaders has made no difference.

Billionaires entirely focussed on personal enrichment run governments to deliver their own agendas. They should understand they are not immune; how much can you spend when society collapses?

So many bots seem to be coming out to bat for Labour:

"slightest divergence"

Yes, that's what gets you plaudits from Tommy Robinson.
November 17, 2025 at 12:50 PM
@davidpintod.bsky.social - you are my Labour MP.
Is it okay to call you a Nazi now?

Labour are nothing more than right-wing fascists now.
You are haemorrhaging support and yet are too stupid to change path.
I mean you're getting support from Tommy Robinson.
I voted for Labour; you've lost my vote as I'll never vote for the politics of hate.

Never did I think I would see the day Labour became so right-wing that they got the support of Tommy Robinson.
Labour are now appealing to Nazis.
Those still supporting Labour must be proud of where Starmer's taken the party that delivered the NHS, Welfare state, etc... [sarcasm].

"it's easy these days to keep in touch with people from the other side of the world"
These are Starmer's kind and compassionate Labour supporters.
And they wonder why they are haemorrhaging support
I mean, what the fuck is wrong with people?

COP30 starts today.
The chart below shows how much of a fuck we give after 30 years of COP meetings (warnings from leading world scientists to politicians that they need to wake up).
Nothing has changed...

I made a (vegan) curry.
It's hit or miss with my cooking - but I'm happy to say this is a hit - tastes bloody amazing. Even mum liked it 😱

I made a cous cous salad.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
