Proton VPN has a forever free + no ads + no throttling tier, the only downside is you can't pick your server location. That ofc doesn't matter when your only requirement is "not the UK".
Totally agree we shouldn't have to use it though.

Proton VPN (probably others, haven't checked) have a free 'random server' mode on their android app that let's you bypass the verification. We shouldn't have to ofc, but at least we can do it for free. Hope it helps

** Bit of an addendum - I do think that Itch has handled the situation poorly and that they should have given advance notice, but that doesn't detract from the fact that they didn't do this by choice

I can't believe how much I enjoyed it. Really refreshing to see an overwhelmingly hopeful movie for a change

How this fight rests with anybody other than us consumers. Valve and Itch and whoever else affected should absolutely be calling out explicitly who forced them to do this and why, but I don't see how it benefits anybody for these companies to martyr themselves

If its marginally less profitable to listen to these fringe groups than it is to allow Itch and Valve (and others) to operate normally, then they'll let them operate normally. Clearly the long term solution is to have more payment providers or some kind of regulation, but until then I don't see...

But much like Visa and Mastercard can stop Valve and Itch making money, WE can stop Visa and Mastercard from making (quite so much) money. I agree it's a monumental task and cutting their revenue by even 1 or 2% would be a huge effort, but at the end of the day all they care about is money

But why would Itch and Valve have an easier time of it? Valve is a much bigger player than Itch and even then they're a fraction of the size of Visa and Mastercard, and the second Valve defies them they suddenly lose the ability to generate revenue. it's an impossible battle for a business

@itch.io is a victim here, the same as the affected creators. If they don't abide by visa and mastercard t.o.c. they lose all income overnight. What good does that do anybody? They're nowhere near large enough to fight this on their own. You should be angry at visa and mastercard

I think they did such a good job of making you feel like an insurgent. A few problems around it (endless reinforcements without any real escalation, nk soldiers not trying to enter safehouses) but the core vision was so good. Feels great to play too

Are there asset packs you expected to be more popular than they actually are?

Yeah OK, I can add in both left and right joystick for mouse movement no problem, and I only need a single button input so I can map every other controller button to that for maximum adaptability. Thanks for your input :)

Thanks for taking the time to reply, there isn't anybody in my life who wouldn't be able to use a standard mouse so your feedback is really appreciated

Move cursor, single click, plus hold & drag were going to be my input actions. Nothing fast, it should all be very low energy. I'll have a look at the functionality of mouse alternatives and see if there is anything I can fold in to improve functionality

The game is supposed to be pretty passive (desktop pet), something you hop in and out of. It doesn't strictly need to be 'mouse' only, just mouse-like. If an alt input device has cursor capability and something akin to a left click then that would be suitable
