This! Really lazy effort here leading off with the declining ridership from the pre-pandemic claim but ignoring ridership has been increasing significantly every year since 2020... Though we haven't returned to pre-pandemic levels, demand is clearly coming back

With the current infrastructure bond set for a vote in the December 2025 or January 2026 City Council meeting, renewing it is vital to keep this momentum going. Continued investment will help make Chicago’s streets more walkable, more bikeable, and safer for everyone.

We don't have the exact answer as of yet, but starting conversations with alders and providing this community feedback at townhall meetings is a start. To your point, this is definitely a great idea for high volume cycling areas.

It's clear with increased demand seeing ridership continue to go up, the time to invest in transit is now. We thank Illinois lawmakers for doing just that!
