regarding LRP I don’t necessarily think gamers are more hostile to media crititique than your average filmgoer the main difference is that where the people talking about films in the public eye were critics the main people talking about video games in the public eye are youtubers or twitch streamers

this is why I think it's SO important to not exclude grown ass adults from "ship war" and "anti" talk. It's easy to dismiss it as all dumb kids but 1) plenty of dumb people are openly 20+ and 2) it's not just adults making bad decisions - many of them are actively recruiting
YUP. I'll never forget how common posts deliberately targeting teens to reform them with things like "This thing you like is inherently evil & bad" which was always a trojan horse for anti-inclusive/trans/queer rhetoric. This is why people need to take OL recruitment with disinformation seriously.🧵
