The version of this my ex and I had: is it a “vegetable peeler” that you use for a variety of vegetables, or a “carrot peeler” that is for peeling carrots.

This is 100% my type of injury.

Do quizzes at the end of interminable training videos count?

Jones is great and it would be amazing if he won (I walked many miles canvassing for him in 2017) but I think the more likely way we avoid Tuberville is in the primary. It’s not like he’s wildly popular, so people must be thinking about it.

My handwriting is so bad that for me it was a defense mechanism from professors saying “I can’t tell if this is right or not”.

Also there is much more overlap in how anthropologists-at-a-conference and astronomers-at-a-conference look than most other fields.

Thanks for the suggestions! This is my first time there so looking forward to it!

I must have some anthropologist mutual!

I mixed up my acronyms and read this as AITA, which was very confusing.

Also worth noting: until this year, technically they needed to take 2 semesters of quantum and did not need the stat/thermo course, but we had been advising any astro-track majors for years to do stat/thermo instead of QM2, and did a transcript override for every single one of them.

This is fascinating to look back on. I just found the year where I was taught Fourier transforms in 5 different courses: Differential Equations, Intro to Astrophysics, Practical Astronomy, Data Structures, and Quantum I.

Just took a look at my UofT transcript from <redacted> years ago, and apparently I took E&M, Thermal, Oscillations, Intro to Quantum, Physics Lab, Classical, Quantum I, Electrodynamics, EM waves, Nuclear, Quantum II, and "Macroscopic Physics" (I have no memory of what that was).

They also take a 200-level "Intro to Modern Physics" where they see some quantum, but I don't think that could be enough on its own.

Ours is technically "Physics (Astrophysics Track)", upper level physics requirements are Classical, 2 E&M semesters, Quantum, Stat/Thermo. I think at least one course of each is necessary, but you could sub something else for the second E&M.

8" was definitely floppy, the 5 1/4" was essentially just a smaller version of it but was otherwise very similar.
