And then I end up at a point where I just have to accept that I wrote an abomination, no matter how it's interpreted or which eye or brain it is examined with, but I love that about Ayumu.
She's my caleidoscope of dreams and nightmares, madness and catharsis. Every color imaginable and unimaginable.

Which is why I love writing surreality and flipped perspectives for Ayumu's bizzare nightmares 😅
Playing with metaphors, taking them too literally, then too figuratively, then trying to find loopholes out of the mess, but no matter what you do or don't do, it’s an equally horrible yarn of insanity.

That madness could either be a huge unsolvable problem, or the solution to distinct problems everywhere all at once yet source of some new problems which reality needs in order to function at all. Because what is a world without problems to solve, without mysteries to ponder? It would be stagnant.

Like, with the patron for example. That’s part of why I love it. It will NEVER see the world the same way Ayumu or Xal or Verlassk or Kealen or whomever we pull into the mess do. We can give the patron every eye everyone has everywhere, and it will still not comprehend us nor will we comprehend it.

Same, it's endlessly interesting. Questions like: is what you see as "green" the same "green" my brain considers "green"? There's no way to find out, unless you overlay and compare both fields of vision/brains. Maybe we'd see a completely new color, a new "green" that's hard to call "green" anymore.

I often don't realize if my writing is subconsciously inspired by any series, but "Dark" definetly was an inspo for my blue-skinned githyanki "alternate-reality Ayumu", her nameless twin? parent? lover? the painting Xal's patron showed Ayumu, which she didn't recognize, so now she has... see above 😭

Also, I love that "Dark" was your inspo, because that series blew my mind when I first watched it. Still did the second time around, and I've been wanting to rewatch it again for a bit now. Somehow I can never get enough of weird time-travel paradoxes and contradictions. That is to say...see above 😅

So is yours 🖤 Both your 'now', and your previous idea. Both of what you said sums up the Ayumu/Verlassk/Patron madness I am currently writing + the madness of an intro I wrote for Ayumu's arrival to our universe. You put what I am 11 pages (rewritten, btw) in on into just a few simple sentences 😂

I have also had the amusing thought before that you and me are basically the Patron to Ayumu and Xal. Two of its spinning wheels of many eyes and its two wings. Co-writers of their home and universe. Source of gifts and torment, dreams and nightmares, madness and catharsis.
Creators with their OCs 😂

I know exactly what you mean, that's how I feel about your Xal 😭 Like he's another brain-"child" I adopted, chosen OC-family in a way. I love every part about your Xal in its own way. I don't completely understand that, can't put it into logical words, but I don't need to. It can just be. ❤️

Word for word, exactly how I feel about Ayumu. Every time a qotd like this is asked, I know: this is why we found each other, why your Xal and my Ayumu just *work*. Because we look at writing from the same perspective and feelings, same love for metaphysical questions and for the very best squid 🦑

Lmao, that feeling when you're just trying to cut your hair, but then your hand with the scissors slips, and suddenly you're a floating head again. Hate when that happens 😂

Perhaps that's how Ayumu's "suspiciously floating hand" at the start of our story happened too, lol.
