BREAKING: Rep. Adelita Grijalva has officially signed onto the Epstein discharge petition. That means there are now 218 votes — and a full vote must come to the floor.

A reminder that the Epstein files aren't a distraction from the oligarchy. They're an integral part of it.
A reminder: The perpetrators in the Epstein files are Oligarchs, and so are the ones protecting them.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

A day of casing type. Sorting and collating. Ever since I deleted my social media (this being the only exception), I’m happier and a lot more productive. Social media is a simulacra of connection. It doesn’t have to be but it’s so easily manipulated that it becomes hollow by consequence.

Actually disgusting that MAGA have no empathy for the suffering of others and for justice to be served as long as they think they can get what they want from the pedophile squatting in what is left of the White House.
MAGA are starting to suffer the consequences of their choice. trump, party of one.
Too funny. It’s too funny because at this point, given all the many woman making claims and the many woman making the claims from when they were children; it’s obvious that Trump is not the sort of person who ought to be in the presidency. The voters, republicans and MAGA do not give a fuck. funny 😩

I just walked out of federal court where I pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges against me.

I will continue to stand up to authoritarianism and call this out for what it is: a political prosecution.

Ai is toxic snd used for toxic purposes. Facial recognition software degrades human beings into two piles. Discard now, discard later…
Your periodic reminder that facial recognition is even less accurate on Black and Brown faces

Apropos of nothing, I have loads of spare N95 masks. They're great for preventing flu and covid
New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

How a book that began as a scourge of the establishment became, in the government's words, "an important part of our nation's history".

It's the 65th anniversary of Penguin winning the Lady Chatterley trial (they had 200,000 copies ready to go). I wrote about it a few years ago:
The book that changed Britain: why the Lady Chatterley’s Lover trial still matters 60 years later
D. H. Lawrence’s classic novel was his attempt to “make the sex relations valid and precious, instead of shameful”; the court case it prompted, and its revolutionary result, now stand as moments of na...

Our child was born six months later, and he wasn't eligible to be vaccinated until mid-2022.

Emerging data continued to demonstrate that letting him get sick was gambling with possibilities like type 1 diabetes, myocardial inflammation (100x more common than vaccine injury), and long covid.

our son was born that november. we never trusted the hype that kids were largely immune to COVID. so much was still unknown—but emerging data were hardly cause for comfort. there was never a question of letting down our guard—surely not until vaccines were available.
