I do not support criminal summonses for bicyclists who commit minor traffic infractions. I want people to follow the rules of the road but a civil summons is more appropriate when they are necessary. Car drivers rarely get criminal summonses even when they are deserved.

Opinion: I’m suuuure it’s a coincidence that Trump orders congestion pricing be killed on the same day Adams and the Justice Dept were in court accused of a quid pro quo where Adams gets charges dropped in exchange for enforcing White House priorities. Sure.

For those tracking the Mayor Eric Adams situation, keep an eye on March 25th. If Gov Hochul removes Adams before 3/25, a special election will be held. After 3/25 Jumaane Williams becomes interim Mayor. Jumaane ran against Hochul in 2022, think she remembers that?
