They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.
Torture Techniques from CIA Black Sites Were Used at Alligator Alcatraz
Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

On Pearl Harbor Day, Heather Cox Richardson reminds us that defeating fascism 80 years ago took ALL of us, not just cisgender straight white "Christian" dudes:

As she usually does, Roxanne Gay nails it.
I can't stop thinking about the purported drug smugglers being murdered by the US military. The punishment for drug offenses isn't the death penalty. This is just bloodlust and men in suits playing with lives they don't care about. It's truly grotesque and gravely compromises this country.

You really need to read this post by Heather Cox Richardson on the Trump Regime's 2025 National Security Strategy. It's fucking bananas. And it's what happens when you elect a Russian asset President of the United States not once but twice.

Late last night, the Trump administration released the 2025 National Security Strategy (NSS) of the United States of America.

Yes, yes we can.
The U.S. Supreme Court: "ICE can racially profile people it arrests."

Also, the U.S. Supreme Court: "Texas can disenfranchise voters based on race."

Can we all agree that we currently have a white supremacist Supreme Court?

Repeat after me:

If we are at war, it's a war crime. If we are not at war, it's murder. Those are the only two options. We are NOT at war, no matter what the rat bastard in the Oval Office says.

Yup!
Thou shalt not pretend that you’re at war with drug traffickers while pardoning drug traffickers.
Thou Shalt Not Murder Fishermen While Pardoning Drug Lords
This is evil.

Look, here's the reason the whole "Trump blew Bubba" has me incandescent with rage:

Forever and a day homophobes have insisted that gay men are pedophiles and groomers, as vile a canard as was ever coined. Are some gay men pedophiles?

The next time someone tells you that America isn’t a sick & racist country, just remind them that this nation is willing to accept treason, rape, and child abuse from a white president but not healthcare from a Black one.

Didn't know it, not remotely surprised. Grifters grift together.
Helpful to keep in mind that lying sack of shit Karoline Leavitt ran for Congress in 2022, and lost.

After a lawsuit against her campaign, she was forced to admit that she hid about $326,000 in undisclosed debt. Roughly 200k came from illegal contributions.

She's dirty AF, just like her boss.
November 13, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Same.
On this Veterans Day, I'm reflecting on the fact that our Commander-in-Chief is a lying draft dodger who kicked out 5,000 trans service members who, unlike him, were serving ably and honorably, after hiring a white supremacist, alcoholic TV chatterbox to run our military.

In a MUST READ (my words, not hers), Heather Cox Richardson writes:

News of the terms of the deal to end the shutdown hit the country rather like a cue ball hitting a rack: lots of balls started to move in wildly different directions.

Here's the rest:

Last night, the Senate advanced a measure to end the government shutdown, which at 41 days today is the longest in U.S.

Fifty years ago today the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald was lost with all 29 hands 17 miles from Whitefish Bay. Gordon Lightfoot's magnificent song, released the following August, was nearly as inescapable as the wreck itself:

Just a reminder:

Today the Supreme Court is going to hear oral arguments on same sex marriage. If they rule on it (not guaranteed but likely) it won't be until next year. It won't be today.

And, no, I have no faith in the MAGA majority.

Your daily reminder:

Seat Adelita Grivalja.

Release the Epstein Files.
Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.

12 days of work in 106 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Don't forget. Withholding funding for SNAP is on Trump and Trump alone.
Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

In case you were wondering...
So what does a Democratic Socialist believe?
Republicans love to say its Communism. But like everything else its another lie.
Facts:
Democratic socialism is a political and economic philosophy that advocates for a democratically run and socially owned economy alongside a democratic political system.
