Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study explains it:

a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.
New: Boris Johnson’s ‘Brexit Titanic success’ was half right
Nearly ten years on, the first full assessment of Brexit confirms what millions warned: Britain made itself poorer

I get a bit tired of some of the discourse around young men. This lovely poem by Hollie McNish highlights the wonderful care so many young men do for their female friends. I was lucky to have boy friends like this in my life and I still do!!

Important thread on fuel poverty and social justice
Today’s price cap still leaves the typical household paying almost £700 more than before the crisis.

That’s because underlying costs, from networks to policy charges, haven’t fallen enough to give people real relief this winter. 1/3

Finding news coverage Covid-19 Inquiry very upsetting - my mother-in-law died in first wave. She died alone on a Covid ward. We did not get to go to her funeral + her husband was left to grieve alone. His last years were lonely + bewildering. Sending ❤️to those w/complex grief + rage.
