High windows. 32 Pearson Park, Hull.

Philip Larkin lived in the top floor flat for 18 years, from 1955 to 1973. Most of the poems in 'The Whitsun Weddings' and 'High Windows' were written here. The windows look out onto Pearson Park with its lake and bandstand, and statue of Queen Victoria.

Remember remember the first of December,
The lights and the laughter and cheer to remember,
No plot, no flame, just warmth in the air,
As joy and goodwill are found everywhere.
Good morning everyone and have a great Monday.

One of those days when it's 100% chance of rain all day, and, yep, it's already started. Yesterday was rather glorious, though, and I liked the bright sunshine catching these boats along the canal. Have a good day! xx
