Birds, NUFC, Severnside patcher, some occasional ICU doctoring
Most things overshadowed by the penduline tit found yesterday, but there was a trickle of #vismig yesterday from aust. Frustrating was a probable Richard’s pipit that went over calling NE but I couldn’t get on the bird. Few groups of crossbills were nice! #ukbirding

Having dipped the Severnside patch penduline by literal minutes yesterday I was delighted to see it was still there this morning! Patch mega! #ukbirding #patchbirding

Odd couple of days on Severnside - 2 black reds around along with a very late 1w common redstart, a firecrest today plus a little stint, and a whinchat seen yesterday! @severnsidebirds.bsky.social #ukbirding

Few bits and pieces of interest on the Severnside patch the last few days - best was a male bearded bit briefly at the wetland this morning along with an odd goosander, also in the last few days a db Brent and a late common redstart (still present today) at Severn beach #ukbirding

Decent (!) day 1 on Scilly with a clean up job on Agnes - mourning dove present and correct, plus absurdly showy hoopoe, American pipit, spot sand and lap bunt. Not a bad start with @matthall95.bsky.social @oscardewhurst.bsky.social #ukbirding

Missed a patch ybw yesterday but there has been a little wader turnover on pilning wetland the last few days, 2 smart juv little stints this morning were new along with 8 juv curlew sands #ukbirding

A brief patch foray today with @matthall95.bsky.social and @oscardewhurst.bsky.social produced a few birds - glossy ibis still around briefly, 2+ curlew sand, 2 golden plover, grey plover, 2 wheatear, vismigging crossbills and increasing numbers of wildfowl. Missed the spotshank #ukbirding

Another big kittiwake day on the Severn today - 1300+ NE over the whole day with intermittent coverage, I had 830+ this afternoon, plus 58 db brents sat on the river at Severn beach and my first 2 grey plover of the spring #ukbirding @severnsidebirds.bsky.social

My 5 year old made this a few months ago telling me we were going to win a trophy this season. Yesterday he got to go to school proud as punch with his toon top under his uniform and his teacher just let him wear it all day. Thank you Eddie and the lads, words can’t express what Sunday meant #NUFC

What was to be a classically dire seawatch at Severn beach this afternoon with @andy-1963.bsky.social and @oscardewhurst.bsky.social rescued by a Leach’s petrel. 1 kittiwake the only other bird - a true classic of the Severn beach genre 😂 #ukbirding

Lovely weather this morning, but no new birds on the patch. The longstaying spot red still on pilning wetland, a female pintail off new passage and the lingering 2 barnacle geese the only real birds of note…#ukbirding

Enjoyable bit of pre work #vismig at Aust (totals on trek later). Plenty thrushes moving first thing, but the highlight was 5 hawfinch (single then flock of 4)! Cue some shocking photos…Then frustration as I missed white fronts and a would be patch tick stork 😭 due to work… #ukbirding

First time seeing the lasses in the flesh, and a first ever #NUFC game for my son - shame about the score line - bristol city pretty good value for the win though. Glad to hear that big Joe and friends bossed forest at the same time mind…felt like a huge win - now 1 point off 3rd…
