We’re saving Thedas, as much as we can anyway given the magnitude of the threat, but rather than missives, imagine a character like a Josephine giving the true weight of the threat Thedas faces, on the precarious at best southern situation.

While the game is deliberately a “bottom-up” approach to Thedas as opposed to the hierarchical order of DAI, it can feel very much akin to hand-waving away certain world elements.

Tevinter as isolated? It’s war with the Qunari? The power of Orlais’ military might? It’s there… but it’s *over there.*

But, the natural ask is, and a fair one, “what would she add to the game?”

After all, a cameo for a cameo’s sake isn’t exactly worth the time nor effort.

True enough. But, as much as I adore DATV, it does lack in the sense of Thedas as a place with nations, systems, and the interplay between.

Make no mistake, the romance letter is lovingly composed, Solas and Harding are thoughtful about her, and the item referring to her is clever, but it’s one of my greatest areas of confusion.

Not anger. That would be unreasonable. But genuine confusion at not having her present.

It’s rather odd, as this is a character with a worldstate far easier to account for than an Isabela or a Dorian, or a Morrigan for that matter.

A game partially set in Antiva, and it’s as if the Montilyet’s are on the moon as far as we are concerned.

Yep, not to be harsh as it’s a very well done character creator overall and I’m sure a nightmare to develop, but it’s oddly limiting and not very inclusive in this specific area.
