We are Anti-Slavery International - the world's oldest human rights organisation. Working towards freedom from slavery for everyone, everywhere, always.

Our partners EPAD – École Parrainage & Actions de Développement are present to raise awareness of the issue of forced begging by Talibé children in #Niger and West Africa, and to demand action.

Safeguarding children is a joint effort, and we must act now.

All children deserve to grow up in safe environments, play, go to school, and live in freedom. But roughly a quarter of people living in modern slavery today are children. Forced begging is one of the ways children are exploited in slavery.

To truly tackle modern slavery, the UK Government must refocus its attention on what matters - protecting and safeguarding survivors, and restoring humanity to its treatment of those in need of protection.

Together, we explored vital questions:
💡Why has abolition failed to end slavery?
💡Why does slavery continue to thrive in the modern world?
💡 How can we take meaningful action to end slavery for good?
💡And what needs to change within the Modern Slavery Act to drive real, lasting progress?
