i was in a committee to write the statutes of a political association — supporting 4 minority council members across a coalition of 3 parties
we spent about 3 meetings on making sure the funds (200€/year/elected member) would be used transparently and only for minority group business

it's actually a technique from chinese traditional medicine related to acupuncture iirc? but if you do it wrong and get the cups themselves hot you can do pretty bad burns and i'm still looking for someone open to teach me lol

you heat up the air inside glass cups then put the opening against the skin — as the air cools again this creates a vacuum and pulls in the flesh

i know there's some scholarly debate going on but *my personal opinion so far* is that the levant in the bronze and iron ages was a major crossroad of trade routes that was getting conquered every other day by the neighboring empires
