first off, i'll deliberately give myself a full mouth pizza burn from oly's favorite mediocre pizza (lookin at you, old school) before i use the word "reskeet" in anything but savage irony or bitter despair.

secondly, i went to work in crinos form once. kinda cool

Photo of the head and upper torso of the FA-78 Full Armor gundam from the Thunderbolt manga/anime. The eyes are glowing a nnnnnot really yellow, more of a sickly yellow green - the cheek sensors and forehead sensor are lit a nice cyan color. Accomplished by gluing a cool white surface mount LED to the back of the clear polystyrene eye/sensor piece and running the wires behind the neck. Powered by a 3v coin cell, in a perfect world all my lighted kits are next to like a 3v rail and they all plug in and light up at the same time. Someday, sigh

i'm going to be persnickety and try to light up the fa-78's head. the eyes and front/back sensor patches (and cheek sensors?) are all cast in this like, coke-bottle faintly green clear polystyrene. the question: can i glue in a cool white led and slap on some mr. color clear yellow?

kinda.
a tiny LED, basically a 1mm chip on the end of a couple skinny wires, taped down to a work surface and glued to a piece of clear sprue. the cut end of the sprue - through which light is being conducted - has been daubed with clear yellow lacquer and glows a yellowish green, slllllightly different than the glow of the unpainted sprue. Not really the malevolent yellow of the FA-78's eyes, but workable? maybe?

love this ridiculous tchotchke but jeez. not a fan of the red monoeye. how tough would it be to disassemble and wire in a nice pinky-purple led set instead i wonder.
a huge char's Zaku 2 head, 1/10 scale maybe? on a stand atop a detolf display case. if it didn't have stuff inside you could wear it for a helmet. maybe a little short between crown and chin. the cyclopean camera eye is lit in a reddish orange, which is strictly incorrect - zaku monoeye glows a pinkish purple.

A tiny Federation pilot model in the jaws of an alligator clip, the pilot's probably no taller than your thumbnail. painted in the Federation typical flight suit colors of ochre (or mustard, as you like) with light gray/dark gray/black accents, turquoise face plate, and brown boots. blurry in the background, the box showing the the "shoot me here" orange hatch cover and round seaglass green canopy of the RB-79 "Ball," which is basically a cottage sized spherical spaceship with robotic grapple arms and bigass cannon on the top.

a big beam bazooka—
the more or less complete Psycho Zaku from Gundam Thunderbolt, a 1/100 model kit of a brick red humanoid war robot (a mobile suit, in the parlance) standing errr, 8 inches all or so, representing a machine some 18m in height. it's carrying a "beam bazooka," like a blocky slow firing laser cannon the size of a locomotive. (less complete, since the mobile suit should be rigged out with a fearsome array of rocket backpacks, booster modules, and propellant tanks, those still being decaled/finished)

idly scrolling pics in the picfile and jeez. i miss playing exalted, it was such a mindfuck when it first came out. magnificently supercharged panfantasy madness. my lunar exalt character, laughing tiger poet. his previous incarnation shot a star out of the sky with that bow (it was complicated)
A pen and ink drawing of an anthropomorphic cat/human thing, not really a "furry," a cat headed & tailed humanoid body with long taloned fingers and toes - the cat head modeled on a caracal, superb ear tufts. lots of piercings. a lunar exalt, which is to say blessed of the moon deity, this critter Laughing Tiger Poet by name, while drawn in black and white in life has rich green fur and many many metallic silver tattoos. he's carrying an asymmetrical bow, kind of a tree themed yumi-ya and crouched looking right at you with his three eyes (vertical third eye in the middle of his forehead). real facts, this sketch is like 20 years old (weeping) and i still haven't really learned to draw legs.

fooling around with metallic lacquers and I'm kinda diggin' this red + bare metal look.
a battletech miniature in a painting handle, this one an AWS-8Q 80-ton assault mech. the left arm, leg, and center torso have been painted a dark metallic silver color (DSPAIE 'dark iron') - the right arm, right torso, and right leg a fire engine red. juuuuust a little highlighting on the left limbs with dry brushed orange.

you know, for a kinda dorky 0079 suit (not *completely* dorky, lookin at you, zock) i'm enjoying the gelgoog quite a bit. solid kit, sturdy, fun details. decals and flat coat shortly.

nothin' fancy, i've always liked how this wolfhound came out. i sorta screwed up getting it reattached to a hexbase, it accidentally looks like it's leaning hard into a turn.
a battletech miniature, that of a WLF-2 Wolfhound, a 35-ton (which is to say, in the "light" weight class) walking tank. painted khaki or light tan, its right arm is a massive weapon nozzle and it has a little trio of laser emitters in the middle of its chest. red canopy glass on the head plus funny little dog ears. the miniature is on a hexbase covered with green sawdust that looks vaguely like crumpled grass.

this guy showed up and got a distinctly mid paint job, ah well.
the Gelgoog cockpit at 1/100 scale, a little gray box with a seat in. said seat is occupied by a 1.7cm tall char Aznable, pilot of the Gelgoog roundabout ep. 38 of Gundam 0079. char is painted up in his Zeon officer drag, red tunic and trousers, white belt boots gloves and helmet, sassy black half cloak with gold flashy bits. Looks fine at arms length but up close it's a ... pretty... grungy paint job. Fortunately ol Char will be inside the Gelgoog and no one will ever know this paint job sucks so badly.

what better paint job for an urbanmech than urbancamo, right? turns out that it just looks like a big gray booger then. sorry, um-r60, even the little green highlights can't change the fact that your details are effectively obscured and therefore you're not very visually interesting.
a battletech mini, painted blotchy light and dark gray in the manner of urban camo. Reddish windows and some pine green panels break the visual monotony, a little, it's still not much fun to look at. The antenna tips are hi-vis orange? That's kind of nice.
