the thing about this is that there’s very little to be added to the debate vs what was known already in 2015-17. except the soap opera aspect of which rw intellectua went fully insane vs which ones repented and changed their mind.

I’m very opinionated about this and feel like people are missing out when they settle for a crappy monitor ha! Nothing sadder than a great computer and a super cheap/budget monitor!

Yes! I’ve been on 4k for years and it’s painfully obvious when I have to switch to a lower resolution one how much it’s better. Like on 4k you don’t see any pixels!

Any LG 4k monitor would do. They are very nice and reasonably priced! (Also don’t try to economize on the monitor - you stare at that thing every day for hours!)

Like obviously I don’t think ICC prosecutions will happen but all this nationalistic BS about how “we have to deal with it” and “sovereignty” etc kind of falls flat imo. we very famously haven’t “dealt” with an equally abhorrent case of sedition and insurrection!

this ended up most weeks with about 70-80% attendance (I also had strict no computers policy so I had their attention as much as I could)

when I used to teach undergrads (a few years ago, but still post-pandemic) I always made the attendance mandatory, worth ~5% of the grade, so they can still pass and even get an A even if they never showed up, but it also helped those that were in-between grades (instead of extra credit) at the end.
