We can totally agree on your last part, but I'm very hopeful our beloved game devs will get super creative and crafts amazing experiences with this new tool!
Maybe I'm too naive, but in ten years working in the industry, I've seen people fighting back against shareholders tendencies so... hope!

I do get it, if well done, the AI character could be written by a writer as well, but it's just that it will have way more possibilities of discussions. I can imagine games with real detective quests where you question everybody around a murder scene to find the killer.
