We have knee jerk reactions these days -you’re either hero or villain. Surely we just need to reassess, learn from mistakes, actually listen to those in the know rather than dismiss them as ‘has-beens’ & be flexible with your Bazball plan? And VALUE YOUR DOMESTIC FIRST-CLASS CRICKET #TheAshes

Definitely a sofa day today & time to finish this fascinating book on Windrush Cricket by Michael Collins. West Indian cricketers & The Ace programme as well as Haringey Cricket College are all given the space they deserve. Well researched & told.

Most exciting thing yesterday - I met one of the nicest men in cricket - Chris Woakes.
I didn’t win the book award but it was great to be on the shortlist & Leo McKinstry’s book is a worthy winner 🥇
