To close out the year, here's a new edition of the History of Human Connectivity timeline, first published 2015. After nearly ten years, this is still fascinating to me. Lots to learn from the ancients and their wisdom. #emergecode www.slideshare.net/slideshow/em...

“When the story of the 2024 - 29(?) Parliament is told one of the strangest chapters will be the refusal to close down foreign donations to British political parties”.
What on earth do Labour MPs think their ministers are doing here?

RIP Frank Gehry. Thank you for your phenomenal contribution to architecture and for inspiring people like me.

No UK political party should be doing this, and worse, it's a privately owned one. Political parties for sale is clearly a thing.

Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

The febrile press are doing a lot of damage to this country.
The predictable crushing uniformity of the coverage of this Budget tells you an awful lot about the priorities of those papers, and also why there's actually quite a lot to praise in it bylinetimes.com/2025/11/26/t...

Humanism in six words: Think for yourself, act for everyone.

For many people, it won't truly feel like Christmas until they're in their a festive fuzzy jumper, in front of the fire, tucking into their favourite chocolates. (We can't wait).

We have a US administration trying to bully Ukrainians into accepting Russia’s proposal that their sovereignty be undone. Aside from the naked injustice of this, there are five basic practical reasons why it would make the world far more dangerous.

We’re watching a shift where AI simulates the cohesion and reinforcement that used to require an entire online community. A single person can now build a complete parallel reality with nothing more than a prompt window. Which seems bad.

When/why did hotel prices get so expensive? I'd like to go to Paros next year, but all the good places seem to be charging £1k+ a night. And not just in Paros, it's everywhere. Who can afford that and how on earth can it be justified? It stumps me.
