Amongst all this, I feel like there is something about the relatively recent naming of individual storms coinciding with this shift in magnitude, frequency etc - encouraging us to think in terms of individual catastrophic events, rather than a catastrophic systemic change?

Amazing. When I did my Masters, the first text on our 1922/Modernism course (taught by the wonderful Lesley Higgins) was Whose Body?
