Maybe another question is why are we detaining the disabled and the elderly? Our shelter has been receiving a large % of people over age 60 who have been released from detention. They tell stories about detainees who are extremely disabled where other detainees act as caregivers. Messed up world.

Thank you for reporting on this important topic. I work at a Phoenix shelter that receives released detainees. They tell of being shuffled from one place to another without notice. We have people released in Arizona who are from all over the country.

Why is this not a class action suit? I work at a shelter that helps released detainees. I have never seen a person who was bonded out without an ankle monitor. They put them on everyone who has paid bond. Many people ask me why this is happening if the judge didn't order it.

I work at a shelter for released detainees. Recently I heard a story about a 4-month pregnant shackled woman who arrived at Eloy, AZ detention. The intake involved a group shower where the baby delivered on the floor in front of everyone. ICE cleaned it up and put mom in a cell.
