I once bought a mandoline and it sat in a cupboard for years and years because I was too afraid to use it. Eventually it got donated. 🤷‍♀️

Nope, wandering all over 2 stores was quite enough. The Home Hardware here is pretty small as well.

This friend of ours is/was incredibly strong and self-possessed and was able to withstand the pressure. Not everyone has these qualities, especially so young. Her boy was just so lucky.

up marrying the father a few years later and having another child. No regrets. Listening to her tell this story moves me, as an adult adoptee, greatly. Wish I had been so lucky as to have her for a mother.

A friend of ours, now in her 40s, got pregnant at 15, and was encouraged to give up her baby for adoption. She describes meeting a prospective couple who were very nice, but she was picking at her own hands until they bled during the meeting. She summoned immense strength and kept that baby. Ended

Yup, the trade war on its own would not deter travel much, I don’t think… it’s the threats to make Canada the 51st state and the attacks on vulnerable populations and immigrants that are keeping me away

Thanksgiving (in Canada, in October) is my favourite of the celebrations. No religious associations and you get to celebrate the harvest with locally-harvested food.
