We really try to shop locally instead of ordering from you-know-where, but wandering aisle after aisle in Canadian Tire and Rona and not finding what you want (or anyone to help you find it) is so demoralizing and exhausting 😞.

I think we could all use a polar bear cuddle pile to brighten up our timeline. These two cubs are about 11 months old and will stay with mom until 2.5-3 years. #BearSeason2025 #Mammals 🌿

Yup, the trade war on its own would not deter travel much, I don’t think… it’s the threats to make Canada the 51st state and the attacks on vulnerable populations and immigrants that are keeping me away

Everyone debates the merits of the spatchcock, but I'm here to tell you: consider cutting the halves of the turkey off the carcass, dry brining the meat, and roasting the carcass to make your stock for gravy and other dishes (like dressing/stuffing) ahead of time. 🍽️🍜

🪶 Took the binocs and went down to the lakeside to do some birding. There were a lot of gulls and then these two. At least the grebe is new to me.

I have this in the oven right now and we have a house full of burnt sugar smoke….For the love of god, don’t forget a foil-lined cookie sheet below it. I don’t even know if there’ll be any caramel left on the cake. 😞 🍽️ 🍜
Apples, butterscotch, and gingerbread star in my favorite upside-down cake of all time. A big dollop of softly whipped cream on top is a requirement. I recently refreshed it; it's now more spiced, uses fewer bowls, and is scaled down to fit in a 9-inch pan.
