The Tasmanian government has introduced legislation to parliament to end greyhound racing by mid-2029.
In August, the government announced it would stop funding greyhound racing, effectively putting an end to it. This legislation takes this a step further to see the industry officially banned.

Heartbroken to confirm Dr Mu’ath Abu Rakba, a skilled, compassionate vet with @sulalaanimalsaver.bsky.social, has been killed. He disappeared last week trying to return to his home in Gaza.

Once their mothers have been shot, this is the best death joeys can hope for - to be bludgeoned against a ute tray. Since shooting occurs in remote areas at night time, this “Code of Practice” is impossible to enforce. If this is what “humane” looks like, what happens when no one is looking?
