@anew.social
Social media should be centered around people, not platforms. Let's build bridges, not walls. That's why we're building Bridgy Fed and Bounce.

Congrats to all the grantees! The ATmosphere is ever-expanding, and everyone here has been such an important part of making that happen. Thank you for all your hard work, and let's keep the momentum going 🚀

And, finally, there's @mackuba.eu, an ATProto developer who has contributed more than his fair share to the ecosystem. An SDK list, thread reader, a handle directory, helpful blog posts, and *so* much more. Kuba is a critical part of the ATProto dev community - thank you for all your work!

PDS MOOver by @baileytownsend.dev helps users migrate and back up their ATProto data. It helps move your data out of Bsky's servers (or your current provider's servers) to another provider of your choice. Countless numbers of folks used it this year, and we only expect that number to skyrocket!

I have some exciting news that I can share today. PDS MOOver's last update was made possible because of a generous grant from Bluesky PBC! Thanks to them supporting my work done on pdsmoover.com and selfhosted.social, it allowed me to go to the next level with fully automated backups!

atcute by @mary.my.id is a TypeScript framework that handles some of the hardest parts of building on ATProto, including OAuth, an API client for various lexicons, and so much more. Your favorite ATProto developer has probably used this at least once, if not relied on it for their projects.

5/
I don't have much to say, but thanks to Bluesky PBC for supporting atcute with a very generous grant 🙂‍↕️
introducing atcute, a collection of lightweight TypeScript packages for AT Protocol

API client, OAuth client, utility packages for various data formats, Bluesky-specific utility packages for rich text and posting

they're all covered!

Then there's @slices.network by @chadtmiller.com, an infra tool that'll make it insanely easy to set up an AppView, a challenging part of building on ATProto. This is another project that'll help new platforms be independent of Bluesky. Really excited to see this launch soon!

4/
Also want to say thanks to Bluesky for generously supporting @slices.network with some grant funding ☺️

Working on a containerized auto-indexing “AppView in a box” sort of thing I’m hoping will make it easier to get started with #atproto. More updates soon!

Red Dwarf is an ATProto client by @whey.party that pulls data directly from a user's PDS, so if someone is moderated out of a platform, you can still see/interact with their posts. It takes decentralizing ATProto further, letting users interact with little to no mediator. Love to see it!

Hello hii i wanna say thanks to Bluesky PBC for supporting Red Dwarf with a generous grant

@bad-example.com is building @microcosm.blue, a collection of infrastructure projects that help ATProto makers build on infrastructure not owned by Bluesky. If you're using a non-Bluesky platform, it's likely running in the background. Thank you for your incredible work, Phil!

2/
i also received a bluesky grant, for @microcosm.blue

dozens of atproto apps you might know use constellation, for major features like red dwarf, minor ones like leaflet, or as fallback like Blacksky.
yup that's officially 10 billion atproto backlinks
indexed by constellation
across every lexicon
that you can query

A reminder that if the person you want to block is bridged, you can block them from your native platform. This feature lets you block not-bridged users you don't want interactions with.

Unfortunately, no one from @anew.social was able to come to Berlin. With @ap.brid.gy
and Bounce, they are doing so much for interoperability between the ATmosphere and the Fediverse.

That sounds more like cross-posting, and there's services that let you do that! Check out @surf.social and @openvibe.social if you're more interested in doing that.

Here's an explainer for the difference between bridging (what we do) and cross-posting: blog.anew.social/bridging-vs-...
Bridging vs cross-posting
When we talk about what we do here, one topic that comes up often is bridging vs cross-posting. They’ve both been around for a long time, and they’re similar, but they’re different in some important w...
