I’m sure Vox would have absolutely had Angel follow but it’s not implied that he did at all and Vox doesn’t seem aware of Charlie and Alastor’s existing deal 😭

Or the green explosion the caused Vaggi to run upstairs? 😭

forgot to mention s1e6 but honestly it's the same situation as the episode 4 thing with charlie. niffty makes things unpredictable, angel stands up to val this time which is even more unpredictable. val is just having a good time. he's playful and laughing and doesn't get what angel's problem is
December 7, 2025 at 2:48 AM
Exactly my thoughts! Angel's known this asshole for years! He's definitely learned by now what he can get away with and what he can't. It's far more complex than people make it out to be.

disclaimer: i love vox
December 7, 2025 at 2:35 AM
In conclusion, I think there is genuine normalcy between them. I think they are a lot alike and they bond over their shared interest in pervy, porn ideas. I think e6 was the closest we came to that normalcy but we didn't get that because of Vox. Therefore, Vox deserved getting his head ripped off.

Angel has encountered a situation where he is none of those things. Even when Val is angry at someone who isn't Angel, the anger is often misplaced and directed onto Angel. It's not common that Angel has a situation where Val is mad, but not taking that anger out on him.
December 7, 2025 at 2:35 AM
Only to be ignored, which makes the situation even more unpredictable. Angel is both visually and vocally confused by Val's behavior, proving that Val being in a shitty mood like this isn't a common occurance at all. If Val is angry, then it's either because of Angel or Angel is the punching bag
December 7, 2025 at 2:35 AM
What Angel doesn't account for is Val being in a shitty mood. (And let's all thank Vox for putting Val in a shitty mood so we can't see what a typical ValAngel interaction looks like 🙄) So he flirts in an attempt to rectify the now unpredictable situation.
December 7, 2025 at 2:35 AM
Angel is talking about the script rather playfully with Val, as if he's trying to initiate a brain storm moment with Val. He's trying to get opinions from him and it almost seems like this is something they do rather often because Angel looks at Val like he expects a certain response from him.
December 7, 2025 at 2:35 AM
We see from Val's texts that he is trying to bounce porn ideas off of Angel, which suggest they probably bounce ideas off of each other often. The moment with Angel in the taxi is the closest we've come to how Val and Angel are with each other on a good day from Angel's POV.
December 7, 2025 at 2:35 AM
It's not until Charlie comes in that he is more careful with his words. Because the minute an outside comes in, the anger is harder to predict. Angel knows what will set off Val and avoids it, but when outside forces are at play, he knows he can't easily stop certain buttons being pushed.

Angel's hypersexuality dialing up existing traits is apart of the mask, but I don't view that as fake. I just view that as survival instincts.
December 7, 2025 at 2:01 AM
Sure, a mask can probably be seen as fake, but that's not the fake Husk thought he spotted and that's not the fake people are talking about when they are saying "Husk loves Anthony, not Angel!". Angel is a complex character for sure, but like you said-
December 7, 2025 at 2:01 AM
I guess it depends on your view of what fake is. Husk's view of fake in episode 4 was this stuck up persona he thought Angel was putting on. Only for Angel to dismantle that view later in the episode which is why Husk starts to feel bad because he realizes his view was wrong.
December 7, 2025 at 2:01 AM
He continues to make sex jokes despite that being what Husk was critiquing in episode 4, proving that is all real! He's just callous like that and Husk knows that now and accepts it which is why we see him start to play along in the finale of season 1.
December 7, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Oh but also to add onto this: The flirting with Husk never actually stopped! He still makes a deep throat joke with Husk in Season 2 Episode 3!
December 7, 2025 at 1:12 AM
make the assumption that Charlie is going to sexually exploit him to grab more attention for the hotel. If you notice, the moments of "fakeness" is really just Angel offering himself up to others, whether it be Alastor, Husk, Charlie, the sharks. It's not fake, but self-defense and also self-harm.
December 7, 2025 at 1:10 AM
And I think people misinterpret Angel's growing comfort level and trustworthiness of the hotel as Angel being more real. When in actuality, he's just safer and is aware that he is safer. He still the same guy from s1e1. He just doesn't feel the need to flirt with the men in the hotel or
December 7, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Even after the mask drops after befriending Husk, Angel is still his same old inappropriate, rude self. The difference is he's not harassing Husk anymore. But he's still making comments on Vaggi's body and being flirtatious with Lucifer (all things nobody comments on when discussing "fake Angel")
