Had a brilliant day in the Scottish Parliament yesterday (with 2 of my TRL colleagues @louisereardon.bsky.social and Ruth) meeting lots of the climate and environment experts. Lots of ideas for new collaborations!

Saw #ACompleteUnknown yesterday, which was very good (thought perhaps not helped by already knowing lots about #BobDylan). Afterwards, I had a listen to Bootleg Series Vol 4 (one of my favs!) but Spotify doesn’t have the “Judas” bit between the final two tracks!! 😱

Won a book from the Guardian Prize Crossword for the 3rd time in my life 😎 I’m sure I could have bought the book multiple times over with the cost of the stamps used from (unsuccessfully) sending the crossword in but I’m still enjoying getting better at cryptic crosswords.

Had a great night at our Faculty awards last week. @profkatespencer.bsky.social and I got an award for our Resilient Anthropocene Coasts and Communities. I was also part of a team that won a Digital Teaching award. 🥇

Great week away in the Lakes with our 2nd year students. No rain but pretty grey weather all week. Back to lectures at 0900 on Monday 😖 need to get through to Xmas for a proper break!

I’m about 1.5 months into my 2 year secondment to Parliament and it’s all going really well! There’s a great group of 8 of us Thematic Research Leads, which is brilliant for support and working across disciplines. Still early days but I’m getting to grips with the systems and planning activities.

Just booked up my longest train trip into Europe. Previous furthest was to The Hague. 🤞it’ll all be smooth and get a little sleep on the overnight train to Berlin.
