I have thoughts I shouldn’t write here.

But I also have a beautiful cake from Manolo’s Bakery, which is open again.

Yeah learned it from Insta folks especially moms. Some of those people might be high school students.
Oh and there’s a candlelight vigil at Manolo’s Sunday evening, considering.

Also maybe these folks:
November 22, 2025 at 5:10 AM
1k-2k marched on Central Avenue in Charlotte tonight protesting recent border patrol presence.

Apparently marched from Manolo’s at Kilbourne to about Sharon-Amity Road, based on social posts.

Based on Goog maps, may still be out there.

The USAG for the middle district of NC says Rep. Pat Harrigan’s tweet claiming a Wake Forest soccer trainer was fired was actual official federal government action.

Bridgett Sullivan is suing him for libel.

People are still out demonstrating against CBP at Manolo’s in Charlotte.

They’re blasting soul music at the moment.

Remember that there’s a new USAG for the middle district of NC.

That doesn’t include Wake/Raleigh, but there’s a new one appointed in August there as well.

Be careful out there.

I have to tip my hat to millennials and Gen Z, and include @wfae.bsky.social in that, and the folks who taught them.

Sometimes, there are the usual feelings of “omg they didn’t …” but, well. Maybe it’s courage compared to much of NC’s delegation.

A post about this flew by me and honestly can’t recall where I saw it. So for anyone doing things like aerial tracking, I hope they’ve hunkered down and are choosing comms wisely.
Hunker, y’all.

It was 7-8 trucks and about 20 agents at Our Bridge this morning. Sure feels retaliatory, aimed at families, in my opinion.
Local Insta women ain’t having it.

Just sayin: the social team and editorial page of McClatchy’s @charlotteobserver.com have been going hard:

Thanksgiving, sorted.

Or whenever it’s safe to bake again.

Time to test Signal’s mod actions, apparently.

We should go shopping. Walking. Running. Though organized eyes on the street also need a digital “rewrite man”. Maybe SiempraNC is organizing for that.
Hard to say what is Saturday traffic and what is something else.
Also requires thoughtful witnessing, not just kneejerk.

November 11, 2025 at 4:31 PM
The recent Charlotte election results showed that the fear/crime message didn’t work even in a traditional R city council district.
Still, it’s good for more people to know that the fear/crime thing is a political tool for the next year, at least.

I know about the weapons sales guy, the ex-preacher who hired a ballot harvester, and the Helene-area likely sitting duck, but assumed this one was new. Maybe not.

These are 2024 John Locke numbers for #NC14.
Taken with a grain of salt, then, an “R” female outsider against an R incumbent can do some damage in 2026.

Dan Bishop’s territory would cover Orange County, home of UNC Chapel Hill.

Doesn’t cover Charlotte or military bases, I think.

Bad resolution map but you get the picture.

Charlotte: Mecklenburg NC SNAP numbers and official response plans:

about 138,500 SNAP participants in the county.

The federal issuance for SNAP benefits totals about $2-million per month, or about $175 per participant.
