Switch 2 has the same “hidden” browser for captive portals. Some hotel chains don’t have their sht configured well, though.

And the reason you don’t see it for consoles like the eShop is because Nintendo charges their 30% (I think that’s their cut?) for every key generated. Also why Switch review keys are often very limited compared to Steam keys.
