It feels to me like #atxcouncil did not have the political capital needed to marshal progressives after burning so much of it to pass the police contract that did a lot to put us into this budget mess in the first place. And thanks to the #txlege, now everything will see cuts EXCEPT for APD.

Normally, I would have started a thread to provide live updates of today’s DNC meeting. However, in light of the horrible, tragic school shooting that happened just miles away, we moved to adopt our committee reports en banc and adjourn early, which I did vote in favor of.
