Yeah the version in the termux repo is 4.1.2 or something like that. But that's no worry of mine because this worked and now I have R 4.5.0 on my phone. Not that I will use it, I just like to install R on everything.

Managed to press in a much more recent R version than the one I got from apt install r-base, and after many attempts it is finally recognized by RStudio Server. Currently compiling tidyverse as a kind of stress test.
