I love movies and vegan treats 🧁

I also run my Dad's Bridges-Not-Walls account and Crafty Tarts is my art account 🎨
(5/6) I see myself as kind of a wuss when it comes to #horror movies so I was surprised I wasn’t more scared from “The Exorcist” (1973) 🫣 I should watch it again. I’m sure a movie theater screening would leave a bigger impression.

(4/6) Technically and artistically, “The Dark Crystal” (1982) deserves all the flowers ✨ It’s impressive and worthwhile. Story-wise and uncanny valley-wise, it is challenging. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone but definitely #JimHenson super fans.

(3/6) I think it’s interesting to see the way society’s relationship with gay acceptance evolves over time 🌈 “In & Out” (1997) is such a 90’s, feel-good, gay movie. Overall, though, its vibe holds up 🏳️‍🌈 #sidenote I love the poster!

(2/6) I have a ticket stub for “Krampus” (2015) which a friend took me to for my birthday 🎈I remember liking it a lot and I would love to revisit it. Maybe this year for the holiday. I’m always game for darker #ChristmasMovies 😈

(1/6) This #moviemonday I’m referencing my #letterboxd film diary to reflect on my first watches from 2015 👁️ Interestingly enough, all of these movies I haven’t seen since so this will be a memory stretch 🎬

(5/7) Kurosawa explores the meaning of life and the human condition in “Ikiru” (1952) ❄️ Longtime collaborator Takashi Shimura brings to #life a stoic man confronting his fear with profound humanity and quiet resolve.

(4/7) Of course, Matthau and Lemmon were #excellent but the scene I’m most excited about when I rewatch “The Odd Couple” (1968) is the one with Monica Evans and Carole Shelley 🍿 The pair’s range from giddy to bawling is fire 🔥 Those ladies ate.

(3/7) Societal norms be damned, Ruth Gordon’s portrayal of Maude in “Harold and Maude” (1971) celebrates the joy and freedom of growing older ✨ Her radiant performance continues to charm audiences more than 50 years after the film’s debut 🪕

(2/7) “Beetlejuice” (1988) 👻 Despite having less than 20 minutes of screen time, Michael Keaton steals every scene he’s in, immortalizing his off-kilter #anti-hero into the household name he is today 🪲

(6/7) I grew up on DVD #specialfeatures 💿 Of the hours of DVD commentaries I've listened to, Mel Brooks’ 25-minutes for “Blazing Saddles” (1974) commentary is my favorite ✨

(5/7) 🐴 The #1 question posed about “Blazing Saddles” (1974) touches on the specialness in Mel Brooks’ guts and genius. What a blessing to exist at the same time 🤠

(4/7) People fighting for a cause are glorified but have you met them? Lots of them are nuts! 🤪 “Citizen Ruth” (1996) looks at this often ignored fact with nerve, intelligence, and #humor🍿

(3/7) "Black Dynamite" (2009) parodies #blaxploitation movies of the 60’s and 70’s 👍🏾 The film has nothing but love for the entertainment that represented audiences who all too often were overlooked 🎥
November 11, 2025 at 2:04 AM
(2/7) "Barbie" (2023) was a pop culture moment and a cinematic achievement worthy of the film’s hype 🩷 The movie makes moviegoers of all generations think, feel, and #reflect on the changes society has faced since the doll’s 1959 debut ♀️
