I agree. You can contextualise it - racist language etc was pretty widespread then and I recall my grandma being yelled at for being friends with Jamaican neighbours - but you can’t rationalise or justify his targeted words and actions. He knew and knows what impact his words have.

Ta James. Was upsetting. I do care for the old git. When you hear of neighbours/families turning against each other in the US or during the war in Germany and you see that exact strain of thought in someone you know, you get a nauseating 'all bets are off' feeling in the pit of your stomach. Bleak.

Also it's a story either way - whatever impact it has on voters. Not up to reporters to worry about the political ramifications of news.

All of this stuff is in the Crick biography and has been reported much longer than that. Farage's career should never have progressed out of the gutter

I vote Green locally. But although I agree with much of what new leader says I find his economic naivety a concern. Where I live the vote is as much to keep Tories out as anything - which LD did this time. Guess we need PR !

I just don’t get it. Why are they behaving like this? If it’s to boost ratings it’s not working - and it’s certainly putting many of us off. So much wasted opportunity and a return to past horrors. I’m politically homeless 🤷‍♀️
