I was feeling pretty burned out at work by constant incoming requests on top of all the features and pressure from the cycle.
My PM asked me: “Do you distinguish between 'important' and 'urgent' in the requests you get?”

I didn’t and still struggle to. But that question stuck with me, and it helped

Je viens de faire un holdup d'achat de livres sur le design et l'UX. Et un autre dernier livre que ma designer préférée m'a recommandé.
J'ai beaucoup trop hâte de les recevoir et les lire ! Des avis sur ceux-ci dans mon entourage ?

PS: je cherche aussi "The best interface is no interface" 👀

I feel lucky to have attended #DotJS — so many inspiring talks from incredible speakers!

One highlight for me was Kyle Simpson's talk on Local-First and Web 2.5. His storytelling and reflections on where we stand today truly resonated. A powerful perspective on the web’s evolution.

Sketchnote of Yu Ling Chen’s talk about « bridging creativity: level up your game as a front end engineer » at react Paris. Decomposed into 3 levels, the first one is about « involve in the early stages » by asking the right questions: reality, consistency, assets, responsiveness, a11y… a good practice is to use real world data for mockups. Skills earned at level complete: identify overlooked cases and raise potential gaps with potential guidelines. Strengthen with PRioritize questions and help solving problems.
Level 2 is about help shaping features. Scenario: Designer has 2 ideas and decides to go with #2. It's technically complex and there's only 5 min left in the meeting. A good answer could be « Let me double check, I den't think it's that easy. » as it manages expectations. Concerns need to be structured: short term (cost, constraints) and long term (scalability and maintenability). With those arguments comes an agreement. Skills unlocked at level complete; Think beyond implementation and Explain tech corcerns to nen tech.
Level 3 concerns Broaden scope of influence. Both collaboration (Front end feature flags, PR previews…) and UI/UX (design system) need to be scaled. Skills unlocked at level complete:
Identify opporturities and Systematise good practices. Strnght: improve, advise, advocate beyond your team.
Epilog in 3 ideas: Ask the right questions, Create scalable tools and processes, think beyond implementation
