About The Alters, I left a negative review on steam due to AI usage, someone from the studio tried to contact me about it.
Screenshot of negative steam review. 20 people found it helpful, 3 found it funny. Review itself: As much as I'd like to say high praises to this game, I simply cannot. It uses AI to translate in-game movies to different languages. According to steam rules it's supposed to be tagged because of it, but it is not. Developer responded to this review with following: Hi - thanks for sharing your concerns, and I want to provide some clarity here. You're absolutely right to expect transparency. The AI translations were used in a very limited way, only for a few short in-game movies added right before launch. Due to extremely tight deadlines, we chose to localize those lines temporarily using AI instead of leaving them in English, with the clear intention to replace them post-launch. That professional re-translation has since been implemented in Patch 1.1.0. We now recognize that even limited use like this should have been disclosed, and we’ve updated our practices to prevent this in the future. Thanks again for holding us to a higher standard - your feedback really matters to us.
