I always include Mom and Gramma in holiday decorating. I don’t have Dad’s ashes because his widow is awful but I do have a little Buddha figure he used to keep on his dresser that I think I can find a tiny Santa hat for maybe.

It’s a small thing in a big scary world right now but adopting my new dog Charlie a few weeks ago after the heartbreak of losing my elder doggo was perhaps the best investment I’ve made in my mental health in a long time.

I’ve had my mom’s dog, Stanley, in residence since she died in March. He will go live permanently with my brother in Utah next month and I’m gonna miss this mug.

(also he scraped his face bc he shoves it under the fence to try to catch chipmunks and will not listen to reason)
