It’s her backstory, sadly the campaign with her didn’t last too long before being cancelled

Her single wing makes her unique among the already rare Aasimar. A betrayal from the Celestials led her into willing service for one of the lords of the hells. To show her loyalty she tore off her radiant wing; a portion of her soul, and offered it to the devil lord.
