I finally am posting pictures from my mom’s early birthday celebration! We went to the Sumo + Sushi popup. It was my first time seeing sumo and I was amazed with the educational component, the show production, and the food and drinks. Really awesome experience.

Started the Holiday Season off right last night with a Thanksgiving Smash Burger at Hammer Burger. Complete with sweet potato fries.

Today my 5th trial/arbitration of 2025 starts in Flint, Michigan.
I’ve never had this many cases actually go to trial in a single year in my 18+ years of practicing. Will there be 6 for 2026?

October has been a rollercoaster and Halloween didn’t turn out exactly as planned (disintegrating costume and mostly empty brewery) but last night I gave up on my hair- put on a witchy dress and nails- and we headed out to Playa Provisions for a yummy meal and a few last Halloween decorations.

October has been a rollercoaster and Halloween didn’t turn out exactly as planned (disintegrating costume and mostly empty brewery) but last night I gave up on my hair- put on a witchy dress and nails- and we headed out to Playa Provisions for a yummy meal and a few last Halloween decorations.
Took the cat on a Hamventure today. (His name is Hamlet.) Not pictured was the large hawk sitting at the base of a tree eating a squirrel. Hammie highly enjoyed the live squirrels and chilling in his travel backpack outdoors at a restaurant afterwards.

Tried to get into spooky season this weekend with a trip to Pete’s Spookeasy. (Normally Pete’s Sunset Grille.) There were Halloween decorations galore and spooky themed drinks and food!

A little over a year ago I was brought on to a case involving an alleged sexual assault that occurred in 1984. There were no records, the alleged perpetrator was unidentified, and there was no one left alive who had worked there on the management team in the 1980s.

On Friday we went into DTLA and got dinner at Pine & Crane (a Taiwanese street food joint) before catching both Autechre sets at the Belasco. Great food, amazing music, and we didn’t get home until well after midnight.

It was also my first time exploring Denver (our HQ) and I already have a list of places I have to go back to. From pour overs at Novo Coffee to unique bites at Bao Brewhouse and breakfast at Hashtag. Not to mention I loved all the old brick buildings and the street art around every corner.

Earlier this month was the firm retreat. Not only do I work remotely, but I work with attorneys and staff in offices across multiple states, so finally getting to connect in-person with the people I am emailing daily or in the trenches with on a case, is just such a fantastic opportunity.

This creates a dynamic where you have to pick and choose which of your experts are going to examine Plaintiff and which claimed injuries you are going to focus your defense on.

Yesterday I wrapped up my fourth arbitration/trial of 2025. (Except for the closing briefs which are due in September.) This 2.5 day arbitration focused on the break up of a joint venture, breach of contract, and various business related torts.
